The Chomp is back…again. But, it’s not what it used to be. This used to be a bi/weekly breakdown of different content and business trends. For all intents and purposes, it was (at a point in time) a way for me to signal to the world (potential employers at VC funds) that I knew a few things. It evolved over time, and while I really did enjoy sending out the newsletter, it was mostly a means to a particular end.
Fortunately for me, the means led to the end I was looking for, which at the time was an awesome role working with the exceptional humans at Bloomberg Beta. When things got busy there, this newsletter eventually fell by the wayside. It went on a long pause then came back to life for a little bit (on a different platform) before finally running its course for good. It’s been well over a year since I sent out the last issue.
Since the last issue, much has changed. I’ve now been working with another set of superb humans at HNT Labs on something called Towns (hit me with a reply if you want an invite) for the past 13 months. This is not entirely relevant to the future of The Chomp, but it kind of is. That’s because I’m lucky to be working on something I’m incredibly excited about and believe in the future of. For the first time in some time, I’m not actively thinking about what comes next. I hope to be working on Towns for a long time.
While I’m still busy with plenty to do on a daily basis, settling into this position has freed up some of my creative energy to explore different outlets not related to my day-to-day work. That has led me to feel energized to start creating and putting things back out into the world again.
So, allow me to re-introduce The Chomp as something new. Something with less restraint. This is no longer “a biweekly breakdown and analysis of the best strategic thinking content and top emerging business trends from the internet and beyond”.
Going forward, this will be a canvas for me to share a wide range of the things that I find most interesting. I see this becoming a curated digest of the finest things capturing my attention. Kind of my own spin on something like Uncrate. My hope is that some of the things I find fascinating will resonate with you, too.
If you liked what The Chomp once was, I think there’s a good chance you’ll like where it’s headed. I hope you’ll stick around for a bit to feel things out for a bit as I experiment and attempt to find a groove.
